Hi everyone! This is my 17th year teaching, and my second as an elementary gifted and talented teacher. I very much enjoyed my new position last year and the opportunity it gives me to work on fun and exciting projects. I learned a lot last year and I am looking forward to applying that information this year, as well as continuing to learn and make my classes better. I am a big believer in project-based learning, but I also believe it is important to address the social and emotional needs of gifted learners. For fifteen years, I taught 7th and 8th grade history at Orchard Valley Middle School. I graduated from The College of NJ in 1999 with a B.A. in History/Secondary Education and later from Rutgers-Camden with a M.A. in American History. I am currently taking classes to obtain a M.S. in Educational Technology.
I am married and have two kids; a son who is seven and a daughter who will be three in October. I am a big Philadelphia sports fan, especially baseball and football. With two kids (and a dog and a guinea pig!) I don't have a lot of free time, but when I do I like to read (non-fiction), jog (definitely not as much as I used to) and listen to music.
