WELCOME BACK
September 2010!
The Washington Township Schools Food and Nutrition Service is proud to provide nutritious, appetizing, and safe food to the students and staff we serve. Each day our staff prepares breakfast and lunch in our schools and we believe healthy meals are essential for strong bodies and minds.
We are part of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. We provide free or reduced price meals to those students who qualify. The process is simple. Just fill out the application and return it to our office. Your children may be eligible for free breakfast and lunch, or the reduced price breakfast ($.30) and reduced price lunch ($.40).
Our school district’s “Wellness Policy” is available to you on this website. Choose “School Lunches and Snacks” on this website and you may view our menus. We also provide a link to our on-line payment system, “PayForIt.net.” You may deposit money on your child’s account with a credit card or check, view the balance in the account, or check what he or she has been eating. We have been changing our snack and a la carte options for several years and are confident that we offer healthy choices. Our breakfasts and lunches contain all the necessary components of USDA healthy meals, including protein, grains, vegetables, fruit, and milk, in the required portion sizes.
Please take advantage of the service and convenience we offer. Hot or cold breakfast is ready every morning in each cafeteria as soon as the busses arrive. We offer many choices at lunch and all meals are prepared and served in a sanitary environment. Our food service employees are trained in Food Safety and Sanitation. We are happy to serve all students and staff members the healthy foods needed to grow and learn.
We thank you for your support. We are looking forward to a great year!
