New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association
Honors Washington Township High School Athletic Director

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Washington Township High School Director of Athletics Kevin Murphy was recognized by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association recently as a recipient of a Service Award as part of the NJSIAA’s Annual Awards.

Awardees, who must be nominated by a third party, must have made an outstanding contribution to NJSIAA/High School Athletics in New Jersey.

Murphy, in his seventh year as AD at WTHS, is currently the president of the Olympic Conference and is a member of the NJSIAA’s state boys soccer committee. Among his accomplishments at WTHS, Murphy has helped the school host state semifinal games in soccer and softball, sectional championship games in basketball, as well as the South Jersey Gymnastics Championship.

“Kevin Murphy is one of the finest athletic directors in the state of New Jersey,” WTHS Principal Rosemarie Farrow said. “His recent service as president of the Olympic Conference is just one example of why he is held in such high esteem.

“Kevin is true professional and has done a tremendous job in encouraging our student athletes to perform as well in the classroom as they do on the playing field. He has always encouraged our own athletes to give service to the community and to represent WTHS with the best of good sportsmanship. We congratulate him on this fine honor.”
