WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Orchard Valley Middle School Engineering Club recently announced that sixth-grader Paul Welker has been named the first-place winner in the Gloucester County Soil Conservation District’s Poster Contest. The theme of the contest is “Healthy Soils are Full of Life.”
For his efforts, Welker receives $75 and advances to the state level of the competition in the Grades 4-6 category. State placers earn $200 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third.
The competition is sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, the New Jersey Association of Conservation Districts, and local soil conservation districts.
