Birches' "Rainbow Rabbit" Initiative Recognized by Board of Education
The Washington Township Board of Education lauded the efforts of Birches Elementary School student assistance counselor Mike Petticrew, guidance counselor Kelly Chropka and principal Jessica Rose in sending the message that kindness matters through their introduction of the “Rainbow Rabbit” program that was incorporated into Birches’ second annual Great Kindness Challenge Week. With funding supplied through the Washington Township Education Foundation, the Birches staff introduced students to Rainbow Rabbit, a book and plush animal created by Arthur Vallee, a former animator with the Walt Disney Company.
