Read Across America
2004
Washington Township High School IMC will be joining other libraries throughout the world in celebrating the joy of reading and Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Our theme for this year's Read Across America celebration was connecting books to life.
Teachers and administrators shared their favorite books with students and explained how these books influenced their lives.
Teacher Honora Kelly, taught the students the hula and described how she used books to research her custome and the history of this Hawaiian dance.
Teachers, Rob Hart and Todd Oberholzer provided background music and Mr. Oberholtzer also wrote an original song, "The Cat in the Hat Blues."
Author George Hakun discussed his book Carpathian Story, which relates his parents experiences escaping from Europe during World War II.
Mrs. Scarpaci students entertained with performance art.
